Mrs. Elda Dougherty was a dance teacher in San Angelo during the 1930s. She was born 20 April 1906 and married Dr. Newal Dougherty in 1927 in Colorado. The couple moved to San Angelo in order for him to open his dental practice here. She spent most of her life as a professional dance instructor in San Angelo. She was a member of the Perry-Mansfield Concert Dancers, the Chicago Association of Dancing Masters, and had studied under the foremost teachers of that time. She died 13 September 1991. The collection contains photographs, recital programs, and newspaper clippings from the 1930s. Located in Miscellaneous Box 3.
